Couldn't play. Kept crashing shortly after opening.

Hey jetspeedo, what operating system are you using? What are the specifications? I'll try and reproduce the bug.

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor (4.2 GHz)

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8.0 GB)

RAM: 16 GB

Operating System: Windows 10 (10.0.18362)

Hope this helps. I also tried running in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Your specifications should be more than adequate to run Abroad. There are a few things that could be causing your issue:

Make sure that Abroad is not in a directory with special characters (characters from a foreign language, etc.)

Make sure you update your drivers.

To further help you diagnose the issue if none of the above work, I need a bit more information -  do you have the problem on any other renpy games?

I am like 2 gpu driver updates behind. i'll try that and get back to you. and no I run other renpy games fine.

Updated the drivers and still a no go. Window pops up for a second and then it just closes.

The problem probably lies in your AMD processor's interaction with the renpy. I found a relatively dated thread with someone describing the same issue that you have. The thing that doesn't add up is that other renpy games work on your computer. Abroad doesn't have anything out of the norm of renpy games on startup.

Sounds like it's just my shitty luck then lol. I'll keep an eye out and see about playing some other update in the future. I had a game once that did the same thing and worked a couple of updates later. Thank you for your help.
