The game loaded fine using the exe version. Once I had created my character and got to the Duke story part, it then tried to load a room. which failed with an error like the one above. I tried downloading the data.zip and extracted that to the Appdata subfolder. I then ran the game again, and it opened. I then loaded up my previously created gamefile. A warning then popped up asking for permission to run 'trigger-read.exe' and I unchecked the ask me every time box and selected yes. The game then continued to load and a room with my character and items appeared.
I can wander around level 1, but when I tried to enter a doorway I got the following error:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit - it's an old HP laptop with a built in Intel HD Graphics chip. DirectX 11.
It's as soon as I enter a new doorway. I tried deleting the folder in Windows Explorer that belonged to the doorway, and the game would then load with me in that deleted folder as a tiny room with nothing really in it. I could then walk back to level 1 (C:) - however as soon as I try and walk into a new doorway, the same shader bug occurs.
I wrenched my file to get out of that folder room. Tried a different doorway and it led me to a grassy outdoors place that worked fine. However the next doorway I tried inside that one (from level 2 to level 3) crashed me with the same shader issue. Perhaps it's just certain themes/backgrounds?
