There are many subtle differences between the games. Conquest doesn't focus on jobs in town, except for prostitute. Your slaves will be gathering resources you need to improve your mansion and make better equipment. The emphasis is on crafting. Food gathering and cooking can produce large surpluses that provide a decent steady income. Your main character can and should work along with the slaves. One of the main activities is dungeon delving as dungeons provide some of the more rare resources. They also provide large amounts of quickly gathered resources. So at least at first your main character and slaves will either be dungeon delving or harvesting resources.
You only get one date per day to increase a slave's stats or obedience (usually not both). Sex gives experience, not mana.
Your main character must be talking to other people in town and pay attention to what they say. Some players have missed quests because they skipped too quickly through a dialog. Each unique character has a little empty text balloon in the upper left of their full body portrait on the character page. Clicking on it will give you some additional and useful dialogs with them.
Now as for the turn/time element, turn length can be adjusted between 1 to 8 hours, so if everybody is involved in long jobs you can increase the turn length.
