Help in understanding basic game mechanics

hello, I loved the previous game (strive for power) and even played it with mods. i think its one of the best of its type and has unlimited potential.

so naturally when i found out there is a sequel I downloaded it immediately, the graphics looks great and it looks like a really fun game. the problem for me is that I'm really confused about really basic new things. i would appreciate it if someone could help me understand a bit more:

what is the gameplay loop here? in the last game you gave each npc a job for the day, and during the day you can visit town or go fight monsters. at the end of the day the game tell you how your characters did and then another day start. pretty simple.

but here there is that "finish turn" thing that seems to just pass one hour forward. when should i "finish turn"? what is the basic loop? im really lost.

thanks for the help!

What's important are indeed the hours. You get the amount of progress your slaves do, in hourly rates. Let's say your slave gets 20 progress towards fishing per hour and a fish needs like 8 each then if you pass the time by one hour, then your fishing slave caught 2 fishes and has progress for the 3rd catch. (these are random numbers i'm using here and the slaves rate gets modifiers with tools, classes and stat profiencies and some skills can boost effiency too.)

For other things, you need days. Quests are tracked by days, assigment quests too, and you can take new quests every 7 day. Most social abilities reset daily at midnight (they are needed to control the loyalty and obedience of your slaves, as you can only date one slave a day for a big boost in those stats and use social skills for the rest).

To be fair, i can't really explain it better, you need to experience it for yourself to understand it fully.

There are many subtle differences between the games. Conquest doesn't focus on jobs in town, except for prostitute. Your slaves will be gathering resources you need to improve your mansion and make better equipment. The emphasis is on crafting. Food gathering and cooking can produce large surpluses that provide a decent steady income. Your main character can and should work along with the slaves. One of the main activities is dungeon delving as dungeons provide some of the more rare resources. They also provide large amounts of quickly gathered resources. So at least at first your main character and slaves will either be dungeon delving or harvesting resources.

You only get one date per day to increase a slave's stats or obedience (usually not both). Sex gives experience, not mana.

Your main character must be talking to other people in town and pay attention to what they say. Some players have missed quests because they skipped too quickly through a dialog. Each unique character has a little empty text balloon in the upper left of their full body portrait on the character page. Clicking on it will give you some additional  and useful dialogs with them.

Now as for the turn/time element, turn length can be adjusted between 1 to 8 hours, so if everybody is involved in long jobs you can increase the turn length.
