I think you've got something really great here! I loved the atmosphere in this, it was so creepy! The wall textures looked great and the lighting was perfect. The sound effects w/ the fireballs and fireworks was nice as well.
I think the fireballs/fireworks are an awesome mechanic that can be used in some interesting ways! Both as a means to light up your path so that you can see where you're going, but also to interact w/ things and shoot enemies. I think it could be interesting if you limited the ammo, so you had to be careful w/ how you use your shots. I liked how, when I got to the room w/ the ghosts, it made it so I was afraid to shoot the fireball, because I wasn't sure what I'd uncover.
I think having the lit spires as a way of guiding the player is an interesting way of teaching w/o telling. I also would want to explore and try and uncover things tucked away in the dark corners.
Feedback:
- I wasn't sure what I was expected to do in the game. I naturally walked towards the lit spires, tried to light them (that didn't seem to work) and shot at the ghosts.
- It wasn't clear if the ghosts were malicious or not? Nothing seemed to happen when I came in contact w/ them. Also, it wasn't clear when I fell of the side that I was respawned - a short animation or sound effect I think would've helped.
Awesome stuff!
