This is a beautiful submission and the monster and antagonists are sinister. I think this scenario could be strengthened by an obvious goal to achieve and inclusion of allied NPCs (who might serve the purpose of goal) that are under threat of the herald and it's cult.

Thank you for the kind words, and especially for the advice! I thought of the village as a kind of trap you could stumble into as the weather was getting bad ("You need to find shelter soon, or you're done, but this lady won't let you in. What do you do?"), but I agree it would be a stronger scenario with more concrete reasons to be there. I also wanted to flesh out the NPCs a bit more, but... I ran out of space.  😅

Space constraints are definitely a challenge. The village definitely has the vibe of a trap, and the weather creates the urgency to make rash decisions. That's kind of brilliant in its own right.
