Very creepy characters and a very exciting final encounter with the Whispering Herald. Also, love the exposure rules. Very well done. I thoroughly enjoy the clever use of layout.
Thank y'all so much! Glad you like it.
Love the exposure mechanic and a great colophon page. Great stuff!
Thank you (and thank you for the word colophon, which I did not know)! 😁
I love the layout of this piece, it's beautiful done. I envy how you designed the exposure rules – I tried but it became way to complex and I had to scrap it.
The description of everything from NPCs to sitting is brilliant. All in all job well done.
Thank you so much! The Exposure stuff was something I knew I wanted to include from the start, but was the last thing I wrote. I was starved for space when I finally hashed them out—turned out to be a good thing because it forced me to simplify.
The layout of this adventure is excellent. I like the Exposure rules and the clean and colorful descriptions of each location. The herald is very well fleshed out a makes a strong opponent!
Ah, thank you! I'm very proud of the Herald!
This is a beautiful submission and the monster and antagonists are sinister. I think this scenario could be strengthened by an obvious goal to achieve and inclusion of allied NPCs (who might serve the purpose of goal) that are under threat of the herald and it's cult.
Thank you for the kind words, and especially for the advice! I thought of the village as a kind of trap you could stumble into as the weather was getting bad ("You need to find shelter soon, or you're done, but this lady won't let you in. What do you do?"), but I agree it would be a stronger scenario with more concrete reasons to be there. I also wanted to flesh out the NPCs a bit more, but... I ran out of space. 😅
Space constraints are definitely a challenge. The village definitely has the vibe of a trap, and the weather creates the urgency to make rash decisions. That's kind of brilliant in its own right.
