Pros
- Fantastic aesthetics, some of the best I've ever seen in a game. The tapestry art style caught my attention immediately, I love it!
- Character sprites and designs were great!
- I loved how much variety there is in the game. A boat section, a jumping section, a stealth section...simply amazing
- The story is simple but effective. It makes you feel part of one of those old medieval tales.
- Locations, monsters, races and events were perfecly woven together. The world feels very alive!
- The music was very fitting. I loved the game over tune!
- I'd say the magical realism theme was used accordingly. However, when it comes to these kind of settings (similar to LOTR, Narnia, Harry Potter, etc.), it's a bit hard to determine if it's magical realism or just fantasy.
Cons
- I don't know about other players, but I came across a very annoying bug in the final battle with the Owl Witch, more specifically, the section where you have to climb the mountain after avoiding her magic attacks. I fell and I was transported back to the chapter where you are looking for the holy priest and you must avoid the blue goblins by jumping on the trees.
- Collision and movement need improvement.
- In some stages, the music doesn't loop and this affects the atmosphere.
Overall: one of the most original games I've ever played, with fantastic visuals and a very unique art style direction. Amazing work!
