Not sure this is a feature or a bug, but you can dive bomb and hold down when you hit the bottom of the screen and still pick up bonuses. Should be a timeout on that.
Found this one out too. (Fun fact: around E+38, you actually hit "infinity". Maximum float value, I think? Not that I played it long enough to find out...)
