A very polished entry, like other players mentioned. Combat/getting a match felt satisfying to pull off and kept me playing. Teaching the player how to play in the starting corridor was a genious idea, instead of having a wall of text or something.

This could easily have been a run of the mill "you encountered an enemy, match 3 to deal damage", but a lot more thought went into that. I liked the decision to keep combat in the level itself and that it wasn't a mini game. A carefully crafted experience and a worthy entry to the game jam! I can't think of a flaw to bring up, honestly. Sometimes it was a bit tedious chasing enemies around when I did not have access to the time freeze, but that was mostly my fault for not matching up quick enough to decrease the cooldown.

Thanks for the review :)

Yeah I really didn’t wanted to make another of those “match-3 minigame + X” games.

I also think the moments without timefreeze feel a bit bad and powerless. You’re right in that you can avoid them (I hope ^^) and that it is part of the challenge, but it can feel like a death by thousand cuts.

Glad you like it and I hope you had fun :)
