THE GOOD PARTS
This game is GOOOOOOOOD. It’s simple to understand, it’s cathartic when you complete the puzzle only to find that there are DRAWINGS when you complete them WHAAAAAT it was great to experience that and I think this is going to have a really nice place in this jam after the voting (possibly top 10).
During my playthrough I was like: “hmmmm… wouldn’t it be great to have more than one level of pipes in a single tile?” ENTER THE SMALL PIPES, the same thing happened when I was completing my first puzzle and was wondering if it wouldn’t be great if these pipes made drawings, and then BAM HERE YOU GO A DRAWING WHEN YOU COMPLETE IT HAHAHAHAHAAH! It was amazing!
The music is on point, it doesn’t distract, feels good to listen for a good amount of time (although by level 29 I was a little bit tired of it but luckily the game is just 32 levels long), the graphic effects like the line and particles that react to your movement are a great addition that adds some visual dynamism to a somewhat static gameplay; I think this was a great decision and overall the aesthetics of the game do the job really well.
I don’t have a lot to criticize about this game. Still, there is one minor nitpick that I have.
THE BAD PARTS
- Quality over quantity. Yeah, yeah, this game has 32 levels which is something not a lot of jam entries can say but I would have preferred to see less levels where the mechanics of the pipes were explored even further but I understand that there’s only so much you can do in the jam time so we’re all good here. Maybe more meme-y drawings or things that would recall pop culture would have been nice but that’s just me and my nitpick (if you added it and I missed it, I’ll take this back but you seriously missed the chance to draw and Among Us Crewmate hahahahahaha).
CONCLUSION
Why are you still reading this? Didn’t you read that my “BAD PARTS” section for this game was just me being nitpicky? GO PLAY THE GAME! IT’S AMAZING! SERIOUSLY! GOOOOOOOO!
