This is such a fantastic concept. Platformers are fun, but having to build and play your own platformer at the same time makes me realize how structuring a level can be difficult. The lovely ball animation and the unique character count limit make this game quite addicting.

However, it really is difficult to control the ball. Also, if you could have the same rubber band like end-of-page scroll animation to the first page, it would make understanding the crank's usage possible from the first level.  Also, the transparent characters on the HUD is a nice feature, but annoying when the text below makes the HUD hard to read.

I look forward to a fuller version of this game!

Thank you! Yes the player controller was just hacked together.. I just uploaded an updated version of the prototype now that the jam is over - would love your feedback on the updated player control. Good idea about the crank. And the transparent characters on the HUD was very much a bug haha. I fixed it.
