Disclaimer - I am very bad at bullet hell games
While not having a strong tie to the theme, this offered some interesting twists on the bullet hell genre. I've found in a lot of games like this, the best strategies often involve keeping your distance from enemies so that you have more time to react to incoming shots and so those shots spread out more. This directly subverts that, requiring you to get as close as possible to progress. I thought that was really cool. I did like that you accounted for the lowered reaction window by giving a sort of 'safe zone' bubble once you get close enough. Another smart choice. And lastly, I thought that keeping existing bullets on the screen was an interesting twist. Keeps you on your toes.
However, I think the game suffers drastically from slow and unreliable move speed. Could you share some insight on what you wanted the player movement to be so slow? I would think playing something a bit more responsive would feel better.
Either way, great job on this. Keep making games!
