Made my top ten games!

The stretch on the cube that you play made it really forgiving and enjoyable to dodge the bullets! Good job! Played at https://twitch.tv/hedgein<3

Congrats team for finishing your game in 48 hours!

Disclaimer - I am very bad at bullet hell games

While not having a strong tie to the theme, this offered some interesting twists on the bullet hell genre. I've found in a lot of games like this, the best strategies often involve keeping your distance from enemies so that you have more time to react to incoming shots and so those shots spread out more. This directly subverts that, requiring you to get as close as possible to progress. I thought that was really cool. I did like that you accounted for the lowered  reaction window by giving a sort of 'safe zone' bubble once you get close enough. Another smart choice. And lastly, I thought that keeping existing bullets on the screen was an interesting twist. Keeps you on your toes.

However, I think the game suffers drastically from slow and unreliable move speed. Could you share some insight on what you wanted the player  movement to be so slow? I would think playing something a bit more responsive would feel better.

Either way, great job on this. Keep making games!

I made the character's speed slow because it became too hard to dodge the bullets when getting close to the boss. Originally the speed would be multiplied by the player's distance to the boss but I thought it felt too jarring, so I removed it.

Fun and simplistic game! I like the fast paced gameplay and the attack patterns of the boss.

The games pretty fun! The JSAB / Project Arrhythmia vibe is really nice although one thing that I feel is really missing is a sort of dash mechanic just to give the player more options they can do. Speed could be increased a bit. Also screen clearing when people hit an enemy and keeping the player where they are instead of teleporting would feel way nicer and keep people in the zone

Pretty fun and interesting idea!

Of course, attacks being somewhat random is generally a given or at least very common in boss fights or longer things like this, but it does incorporate the theme, even if not the most creative.

Also, if you want to compress all the files into one .exe for windows, if you build your game in the terminal with PyInstaller (which I think you did, from the labeling of some of the files in the game folder), you can put --onefile after the rest of the command to do that!

Really neat idea and good execution! I would've liked a gentler learning curve at the start, but regardless it's still quick to pick up. The player also felt a tad slow and some juice would've been a great addition such as a particle explosion when the player gets hit. I had lots of fun nevertheless though and it's a solidly made game!

Music was satisfying af!!!

Love the art style and great presnetation :D

Suggestions would be:

  • To make the player at the menu a bit faster
  • Make the hitboxes a bit more clear
  • You could also show what the next dice would be so that i can prepare! also the next position would also be good to know
  • You could make the bullets go in the dice after it rolls, like make it feel like it's retracting their power!!!

My high score was 250 :,)  (sad moment)

Great bullet hell game! I really love the art and music! I really like how different the each attacks of the dice were, and the different ways to deal with them! At first I thought the player moved a bit too slow, but it actually fits for the game very well! And the forgivness on the player's hitbox was very nice too! It felt very good finally getting the red circle and attacking the dice. My highest score is 1400! Not sure if that's good lol

Developer

1400 is really good! It would've been the highest score made by anyone who played if someone hadn't scored 2600 right after.

Great idle game! Love the concept :) But why no Mac download :(

Thanks for coming by the stream and sharing your game! Fun stuff, only managed a 250 though. Might have to come back for more! :D

I honestly thought it would be harder when I saw the premise.

But it turns out, it is surprisingly manageable. And as such, the challenge feels quite enjoyable for me.

I think it is a pretty solid entry.

Hmm, I think the hitbox of the player could be just a bit smaller. Otherwise, it's fun to try for highscores.

Developer

It was half the player's size in development but it made the game too easy, you could basically just go directly to the dice and not be hit.

That was really a diecey situation! Simple but pretty fun game. Makes you want to play again and again!

Damn I really liked the little squish and rotate on the square! Nice work. It reminds me of a lot of the Cuphead bosses.

Its a nice game. Initially I thought we just had to dodge the things but later I realized that we have to touch something. One thing, a way to control the speed of how fast we move will be great!

Submitted(+1)

Pretty enjoyable game, absolutely loved how squishy the character is, music is also pretty great and really helps to sell the game, I think the character should be a tad more faster, and dying in one hit feels kinda unfair,  but maybe I'm just bad lol, overall great experience

I love the aesthetic, simple but well-polished. I like the squashy movement you have in there that somewhat can use to your advantage while playing the game. Clever, good job!

Nice juicy little game! Not too strong on the theme, but I like the risk-reward of having to get _closer_ to the thing that's spewing out bullets, and nice job implying what you're supposed to do just from the title screen :)

Developer

Thanks for the words!

Awesome bullet hell. Not too hard, patterns are cool and readable.
Very nice work!
