Nice foreshadowing of the solution, if a little on-the-nose comment a the end which might or might not be out of place had there been more word count to expand on the character's personality.
Fitting into one thousand words was definitely a challenge. I kept to a strict 1k and would have loved to further expand the characters a bit more. Thanks for reading!
