Understood.
I will try to come up with a setup.
A bug in the Htc controller operation has been fixed.
When I looked at the Index controller mapping, it was not much different from Oculus and I could not find the point where I needed to change it.
Specifically.
Can the player move by pressing the analog keys?
Can the player turn, go up and down with analog + trigger?
Can you hold things with the grip keys?
Can you open menus by holding down the AB button?
Apologies for the delay, I was caught up with some medical issues. I've gotten a chance to test it now and here's what I've found for the Index controllers: they do work as you've said!
Both controllers do the same thing, which is a good thing if you're going to be... doing something else with the other hand.
You move with the analog stick, but cannot rotate with the other controller's stick. Instead, you hold the trigger and moving the analog stick left and right to rotate by I think 90 degrees, and you adjust your view vertically by holding the trigger and moving the analog stick up and down, makes sense.
You access menus by holding down the A or B button.
The Index controller's grip sensors do work to pick things up.
All in all, that's actually a fairly good control scheme I'd say!
