Very cute! ❤ I feel bad for the little dino (Geraldine, in my game). Nice touch to let the player name it. Just wish there was more to do, but I read in the game's description that you had scope creep, so I totally understand that

Game artist here.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I think a lot of resources were used on developing ideas. Which unfortunately meant a day 3 complete redesign of our game, so we probably only spent 3-4 days on this version of the game. If we had another week, I think we could have made something a lot more engaging.

Our first idea was to have an automated puzzle type game, where the mechanic was about using the world around the creature to encourage it to find its way through different challenges. So a god-type game where you, the player, don't control the character, similar to what we have here, but more puzzle and less sim. However, we all had very different definitions of how to go about the design for that game. Until we collectively agreed that a pet sim might be the best route to go for this jam.

I definitely get that - I lost a couple of days of dev time myself. I'm happy you all were able to come to a consensus and submit a finished, polished product anyway 🙂
