Hiya! Top down 3D game wow! I played with a keyboard too and I had the spacebar bug as well. Powerups are a nice addition that adds more to the gameplay. I'll try agin with a controller tho I think the gamefeel will be better.
A work-around for the space bar bug is to use the hotkeys (Pumpkin Pie: 1 or P, Banana Squash: 2 or B, Cucumber Cracker: 3 or C, Red Pepper: 4 or R) instead of clicking on the buttons.
