It's a good song but the instrumentation is too simple, it doesn't feel too nightly to me.
i feel like you're confusing simplicity with something being bad. Simplicity can be beautiful, and even be the point of a track.
It's more on the instruments being used in this case, it's not bad at all but they don't evoke a certain feel I was expecting.
