It is an issue of vram in the cards. The more you have the better the game performs currently. I would say any reasonable low to mid tier card from 2015 would be fine. I run it fine on a 1080ti.
We have not optimized the game at all as we are focused on development right now. If neither of the .bat files give you any fixes be sure you're running the latest version and update your driver's.
