1: Ah, well, simply speaking, when you put bullet hells into 3d, they become unplayable garbage. It was a genre made around single dimensional gameplay, with single dimensional bullets, and it just adapts real bad.

2: My apologies! I’ll provide an optional theme for ya guys who want one!

Nono, I get that it would be terrible in 3d, but to completely cut out the option is a bit harsh.

Edit: Thanks for being this responsive though, haha

sorry, I would  have the option if it was feasible, I just don’t see using 3d keeps the spirit of bullet hell. Once again, I apologize.

I totally get it lad, all good, but to at least have the option would be nice.

Deep Rock Galactic did a 3D bullet Hell really well, although they did have a lot more time and people than any of us do.

deep rock galactica is not a bullet hell game 🤨

Really? mowing down hundreds of enemies doesn't make it bullet hell?

In my opinion, games like Nier series or Returnal are pretty good examples of bullet hell working well in three dimensions.

Also, what if game is made with 3D technology (as in, 3D models instead of sprites), but still works like 2D bullet hell (as example, some bosses in Furi)?

i don’t think 3d is a good view on such. With your 2.5d ,then that’s fine. The spirit of the jam, more or less, is the danmaku element, not so much the “just dodge lmao” element. If it isn’t top down or flat, then it truly cant embrace it in the same way.
