Beat the game with controller.

Negatives: Maps are WAY TOO BIG, and empty, even with using all the speed-up options in the config. For example, to get the bonus terminals at the bottom of the map(didn't do it) would require walking the horizontal length of the map TWICE and still even more distance to walk back up to the tank area. Making me walk for like 5 turns to get to the first enemy is ridiculous, either spawn me within a turn or make the edge of the map closer. By empty, I mean that little occupies the massive map size, and there's no meaningful terrain to make use of; it's all 0% Def tiles as far as I saw.  Also, the enemy had no variety and it felt annoying that there's a long gauntlet to the museum, leading to boring 'bait, surround and attack, repeat.' The museum map was more interesting since it had a switch that changed level state. However, I failed to realize the emblems were temp walls until I got to the bottom right. Again this area was super big and I almost skipped out on the extra healing items since it took so long to walk to them. It didn't help that I thought a boss would spawn on touching the gem, so I moved my minions all the way from the bottom of the map to me(though I guess it's my fault since I could have saved and just tried getting the gem). The white forest was also too big, would be better if the hallway was 1 turn long or you just spawned in the arena. It turned out I beat White miester without healing items, so now that time wasted getting them in the last chapter stings all the more.

Oddities: Game took an astonishing 15-30 seconds to boot for me, and saving also felt a bit slow at like 2-4 seconds. Dunno if that's my end or what.

Positives: Aesthetic on the map tiles are good, I like the two tone look of red on black and the white level. It also makes the player and enemy units stand out. Portraits and unit sprites are ok, wasn't particularly humored by some of the references. The lore of the world is fun, a weird authoritarian dystopia with bodies being digitized and human experimentation. I particularly liked the last cutscene, the image and sound was creepy and a decent hook. Though I couldn't make out the words spoken beyond the first couple.

Main thing the game needs is variety in units, terrain, and weapons/items probably, as well as making the maps smaller and succinct. Hope to see you improve upon it.

That never happened on my end, not sure what that is and I will look into it.

But I think I need to add more to the first level to make it more interesting. Maybe changing the friendly units to be more unique in terms of movement and more dynamic stuff in the levels outside the second terminal. But I think changing the movement would help a bit about the map feeling too big. But I'll keep everything in mind about the space and add more enemies.
