I’ll try this again (and rate) once I get to my windows machine, but just wanted to let you know that the mac build is getting me a blanket “The application “GRIM” can’t be opened” (not to be confused with the sandbox/quarantine thing, which I’ve been bypassing to play other OSX build).

Appreciate trying to make the OSX build avail tho, and excited to try this later as the screenshots look quite interesting.

Thank you for letting me know, when I tested the Mac version it ran before… I’ll have a look to see what’s wrong. I’m also just seeing now if I can get it to run in the browser.

If it helps, I’m on an M1 mac, I realize the apple silicon tends to throw a wrench into some things. Browser access certainly would make it accessible!

Oh yeah, I think I need to change a few things for it to run on M1

Ok it should work on M1 no

Super appreciate you giving to update it for me. Sadly, no dice, still getting the below. But don’t fret, as I said I’ll be able to play on my PC when I get to that later this weekend.

Bro I tried to play your game and I got the same message (I'm on Mac without the M1) Bloody Apple, I'll try and find out what's causing this.

I know, why does apple make it so hard, and it’s only getting worse :( I was going to ask if you tried the quarantine terminal command, but I see even my own upload doesn’t work on my own machine when I download it back from itch (whereas the preupload works fine). Let me do some research to see what other hoop we clearly need to run through now, used to be the terminal quarantine command was enough…

Alright, I’ve sorted it out (at least for myself trying to download and play my own game, what a concept).

I had to reexport with this setting enabled:

Then it turns into “You can’t run bcuz maybe malware!” in which case the following command then makes it work:

sudo xattr -rds com.apple.quarantine Escherport.app

So maybe you have an equivalent setting to enable sandbox support?

I've spent a bit trying to find a unity solution but to no success. At least your reuploaded version works for me, it now gives me the option to open after it warns me.

I have found however if you download the itch app, the app will run the games for you so you don't have to deal with the apple gatekeeper. I might put that in the download instructions.
