Could you try going into “Advanced” settings and changing the installation method to “System install”?

Thanks, I switched from native (I'm using miui) to session default, and it worked.

Weird that this hasn't been an issue before.

I've met this error too for some (not all) apks but changing to and from session and native installers don't help. The apk install fine when downloaded from brave browser

Suggestion: maybe add the option to download to certain folder so we can see whether it's the mitch installation process problem or apk download problem

This would so helpful, especially since the files are stored in the root/data folder. (I hate navigating in root lol)

Yo Garden Apple, 😂 can you please give me a response 😂😂😂

Sorry, it’s a known problem but I’m not sure how to fix it since this does not happen on my device. I could add the option to download APKs outside of root/private storage, but that is a security concern.

Why would it be a security concern? Just curious XD

Because then other, possibly malicious, applications have access to downloaded .apk files and can modify them before you install them.

This is theoretical but still a concern. To be honest I probably should add the option to just give public access to the downloaded .apk anyway, I’ve been putting it off for a long time.

Thanks for explaining.

Still, I'd like to download them to different file locations, especially since my internal storage is filling up lately.

I mostly download zip files and sometimes my file managers can't load them from mitch itself, so I have to navigate to the root folder for zip files.

So thank you for considering it 😊
