This game was pretty decent, but there is in my opinion a lot of room for improvement:

First of all, the movement doesn't feel good, the players horizontal movement and jump both felt way too floaty, additionally you've way overdone the lookahead time. Another problem was that the player was sticking to the wall which also caused me quite some troubles. The feeling of the player movement is the most essential thing in 2D platformers, so you really have to make sure that it feels good! I'd suggest you looking into GMTK's Platformer Toolkit, it has high quality information about 2D movement (his channel is also generally really good for game design) https://gmtk.itch.io/platformer-toolkit

Another thing was that the music became really repetitive after a while, so maybe you can change that up a bit. The graphics on the otherhand were fine, I actually really liked theme, so good job!

This feedback may come across as a bit harsh, but Game Jams are primarily there for learning purposes, I also used to have a terrible platformer, so see this as a chance to improve!

If you want you can check out my game, it's also a platformer and it's controls are a bit floaty (only realized this after playtesting with some friends, playtesting is really important!), but it has most of the things implementend from the platformer toolkit, so you can see some of it in action :)

Hey, thanks for constructive opinion.

I am still learning and all ahead of me,  it's important to get these to improve skills. I agree movement could be much better (almost all code was wrote by me) , also music isn't amazing (I am completely new to making music in games).

I'll check out your game now, but don't forget to rate mine :D
