Thanks for the hint - I’ve completed the game now :) As a slight rework, I would put the flag just outside in the fountain room and then just have all the enemies all ready to go when you walk in. If you wanted to keep it so the enemies appear, then have something visible that triggers the enemy event, i.e. collecting a key

I really love this cute game! The sound and art work well together. My only real critique would be the tapping of the buttons for every single square of movement.

Thanks! I'm glad you like the game! I would make the flag outside the battle and boss, but the way the checkpoint system works it would be super hard to do, so I will have to make a better checkpoint system. And I would like to keep the movement, but make it so you can hold down the button. I think I will update the game after the jam.
