And just as quickly as the adventure began, it ended. Let me tell you... about Chicken Adventure.
After scraping all the missing DLL's into the game folder, I was greeted with a chicken on a 3/3 grid, with several stats on the side, like ATK, DEF, and DOGE (whether dodge or internet dog, no one knows). Progressing is very simple, you move with ARROW KEYS on the grid, where you either have an enemy encounter or gain an item. You only ever have two attacks in a battle, and normal attacks seem to work better than strong attacks, at least for my playthroughs.
You gain overpowered item, and finally you arrive on the fatal square in the 3x3 with the boss, where you proceed to wipe the floor with them. A little spike in difficulty from one snake to five, but nothing our mighty ATK can't handle. Overall I liked the limited nature of the game, the cute graphics, the sound design, and I'm left waiting for more. More encounters, more reasoning behind stats, more spaces than just a 3x3, more depth. More goodness.
