All good, thanks for keeping us in the loop!

On the jam page it says the jam starts from August 3rd and ends on August 13th, yet the timer on the top goes from August 17th to August 24th. Just was wondering when the actual jam time starts, is all.

A fun little bundled experience, and who doesn't love a bird in a slingshot? I didn't quite get how to reload my eggs, so every time I ran out, I just refreshed the level, which made me try to get perfect every first try. I liked the bounciness on the slingshot, I think the audio peaked a little too loud for me, but that's okay. All in all, could use some tweaks, but pretty good. Great stuff!

A very lovely chicken raising game,  and I do mean LOVELY. Eggs of Greed makes it sound like some evil conspiracy, but really you're just trying to pamper your little chickies with the best grass and feed money can buy (while raking in the profits, of course). I liked the narration at the beginning, and I dig the pixel art and UI (the UI looks real nice). One thing about the chickens in the top left is sometimes the top most chicken has eggs ready and the egg icon clips over the top of the camera, making it hard to spot, but that's just a small thing really. A really well made game, fantastic job!

I think the game has a lot of potential, so let me list some things that may/may not work.

First, visuals and audio are great. I love how you timed the beat drop right as you start playing so you feel the frantic energy as you start moving.

Second, the frantic energy as you start moving. It's a little too nauseating, I understand the appeal of a Crypt of the Necrodancer vibe, but it feels a little too shaky, But also, only being to pick up one baby chick at a time? That's just needlessly cruel, with how the chicken constantly move away from and can swim across water, where you can't even cross and have to wait for them. I went downwards and thought I saw a brick wall, then I thought it was a road, then I didn't know what to think as the fence's texture clipped on top of it.

All in all, a very fun if not intense experience that could still be oiled up and tightened! Great game!

The artstyle doesn't look too bad for AI, although I think the chicken looks more like a duck. The movement of the chicken? duck? is a little too floating, I felt like I had to guide it where I wanted it to go, which doesn't feel great in a game about defending from every angle. Also, your eggs crack way too quickly (1.5 half hits) and it could use more effects. If you want a simple egg defending time waster game, this one's for you. Good game!

Fun little break from every other intensive game in the jam. I think the physics could have been a bit weightier on the sliding, I felt like I had the perfect slice but the juice wasn't there, and sometimes the chicken piece just slammed itself at the bottom and didn't even shoot up into slicing range. Visuals are fun and the music is strumming, so that's always good. I think you can definitely tighten this and make it more satisfying, but regardless, great job!

A really interesting puzzle game, where it's important to not forget your chicks, or it'll be the death of you. It's not actually that grim, I'm just trying to hype it up a bit. Simple visuals, but they sell well. Lack of audio is mildly disappointing, since you can definitely have some basic sound effects in their for sliding or hatching. Otherwise, really smartly designed, good job!

Eggs with legs, and this game has them! Good visuals, fun music, and tight programming make this very fun. I'm an idiot and read "crack the eggs to progress", yet I avoided every obstacle for two minutes in the first level before realizing what I supposed to do.

Thinking about it, you could play it that way alternatively if you wanted to see how long you would last without cracking overall. Anyway, was really fun, really cute, really compact, great stuff!

What a great fun concept, looks like it was a lot of fun to work with. I liked the artstyle a lot, although I think the doors have to be designed wider, because the opening is hidden by the graphic of the extruding wall, so you have to rub your face against the wall to find the opening. A tutorial wouldn't hurt either, even though there are only two methods of preparing a human, but through trail and error you figure it out. Also, when failing a customer's order, their failure text still remains floating in the air afterword, making it hard to continue if you fail the first time.

Regardless, it is a really unique idea and fun reprieve. Good job!

Really fun game, was not expecting to fall in love with the chickens and the foxes, but after I heard their silly voices and their goofy expressions, I wouldn't have it any other way. I do think the "BWAK!" on the chicken could be a little bit bigger, just so it feels a little more powerful, but otherwise everything is very smooth. Great game!

A good shake-up on a classic formula. Visuals and audio are polished, and the game is as hard as you make it. Great job!

Holy moly, does that main menu have A N I M A T I O N. Really visually striking game with cutscenes, fun gameplay once you get the hang of it, and good music to boot. Fantastic job!

A simple chicken sokobon, what more can I say? Interesting idea to have the phrase "have a chicken in every pot" contribute to the framework of your game. I liked the design of the robot and the simple sound effects. Great stuff!

A surprising sleeper hit, I'm just going to say it now. Insanely polished visuals, great sound design, solid gameplay loop, what more could you ask for (besides more stuff to do)? Really great job, you've outdone yourself.

This game may seem cute on the surface, but... yeah. no it's just really cute. Good level design, FANTASTIC art, and I love the audio as well. Great job!

A fun little puzzling snack, in the midst of all the arcade and farming simulators. I really liked the artstyle, the personality of characters assembled, and the audio design. Great job!

Wowza, that was a lot of fun! Super amazing you were able to put in not only controller support AND a leaderboard. Fun, springy, arcade game, left me wanting more. Really great stuff, good game!

Pretty interesting idea to have two different alternate ways to play, though I feel the egg may have a little bit easier time to play. The chicken side of gameplay has a very inconsistent float, by that I mean the float FEELS like it should be able to go longer and higher, but stops short. That, and the fact that collecting eggs as chicken, having a large mass of them affects your jump/float and sometimes leads to clipping through platforms.

Otherwise, a fun little exercise on the theoretical question. Good stuff!

Really stylized, very fun, accurate depiction of French chickens. I can't for the life of me get past the giant wall in the third level, but that may be a skill issue. Good game!

A fun little game where you have to prevent AND evade capture at the same time. Don't have much critisms, love the game and the graphics on the itch page (those animated buttons are tight), I just think some parts of the game could have more dynamic, like the death screen having a fun visual.

Regardless, a really fun foray into a chicken escape simulator. Great job!

A really unique approach on battling, I like it! I think the audio is made in Beepbox, if I remember correctly, it adds a unique flowing sort of energy to the whole game. I think it could have been more dynamic if there was some other sort of musical theme playing during the fight scenes, that would have made the first encounter much more pivotal and all other leading encounters more active.

Otherwise, a fun little proof of concept, reminded me of a 2D chicken Fight Knight. Good game!

What a fun little cute experience! I really liked the art, I liked the calm music, and I just like the vibe. There is specifically a lot of polish of the art, with things like the leaves blowing, the sway of the plants, and the seed bag on the back. I just wish it could have been longer, but like spring, it came and went. Really good job!

As simple as the concept was, I did not expect it to get so intense! I liked how you many different enemy varieties, that was a welcome surprise. A fun mix of arcade shooting and good audio design make this a fun "rack up those points" experience. Great job!

A really fun and unique game! I genuinely enjoyed the gameplay loop and the cute/terrifying? graphics molded together. When I first started playing, I started panicking because I thought the sides of the fences were "open", so they would bust through and grab me, but in hindsight that doesn't make much sense. I tried to not overly cheese the mechanic of charming in the corner all the time, but it did seem like a quick and dirty way to win all the time. I don't know quite what the replacement to that would be however, maybe a farmer that can't be charmed, you have to use a secondary ability on, or even different fence layout which require you to consider different positions of escape.

Really, really fun game, a sleeper hit for the jam. Great job!

(1 edit)

Really interesting framework for a game! You have a fun combination of farming, which is in turn used as fuel for a tower defense game! I liked the aspect of how different things had to feed off each other, e.g. the farm makes the wheat, which makes the chicken lay eggs, which fuels the turrets. My one qualm with that is, it's very noticeable when the production pipeline starts to go down, as it takes longer and longer for farmland to grow and for chicken to lay eggs. That part left me confused in either thinking that old resources had to be constantly replaced, or that the game's cycle naturally made things take this long at this state. Also the quarterback? fast enemy is very fast. Also could have audio.

A really fun experiment with two genres. Great job!

Very interesting little survival shooter. I liked the mechanic of the boosts, although I couldn't tell when they were coming, I certainly felt their power, which was nice. The AI art was surprising, considering you already have such nice pixel art, so it clashes a bit.  I couldn't tell if the chick that hatched from the eggs were supposed to be doing damage to the evil chefs or they solely existed to be body shields, it was unclear. Music was nice, sound effects would be much nicer. All in all, a good game. Great job!

A really interesting aesthetic game, where you have this sort of zen chicken flying. I don't quite get why cave bats? seem to be the enemy, but it works regardless. Obviously, graphics and audio is great, but sound effect may add more to the fun, and a slightly better sense of control going up and down (those bats can really pull a fast one on you going up and down). Great job!

While some of the graphics suffer from some anti-allising (text for example), the experience is still visually and audibly appealing with good sound effects, chicken tail wiggle, and understandable UI. A very intensive click-on-thon. Fantastic job!

A fun enough tower defense experience. Lack of audio was a bummer, but what I cared about more was the minuscule text that I had to squint to read. If there's one thing you should change, it should definitely be that. I think the graphics were a little too muddy (no pun intended), and the ants/chickens could have used an outline against the background. Otherwise, a fun little time waster. Great job!

I think the idea for this game is great, however the execution become unfortunately half cooked. The foxes spawn way too quickly in succession, the jump is far too light and needing multiple tries, and the bullet that shoot out are like poppy seeds, too little damage and no knockback. And no audio as well.

This could be a very entertaining game, but for now is just a existential struggle which your chicken never truly wins. That being said, very good start, and good luck going forward!

It's unfortunate you ran into some many complication when making your game, we've all been there. So good on you for pulling something out in the last hour, and I wish you good luck in the future.

The game was very interesting for a platformer, having to rush but be mindful of falling and time. The graphics were very minimalist, but still effective enough. I wish there was some form of audio for engagement, either tense music or sound effects for jumping and cracking. But it was a fun little short experience. Good job!

Really original concept! I liked the game's mechanic of life drain and having to kill being connected with your headless-ness. I liked the stylized artstyle, although sometimes blended, was still unique (the opening baddie has a barrel for a chest, and I love it). The sound effect and music were good and popping (literally popping for the lemon bullets, just a smidge too loud for me). The music was a great motivator to try and move fast through the level, although I think the camera could have focused on the player more and less on airspace above, but it wasn't too horrible.

Good job!

First of all, wow. I can tell this must have been very fun to make together with a big team, and I hope that everyone enjoyed working on in. The visuals were great, the physics were solid, the level design was marvelous, and the audio was frickin modular (or at least it felt that way, because it was so gosh darn good).

Really great stuff, a real sleeper hit of the jam. Good job everyone!

I think this was a nice short little game. I was a little confused when the main menu screen didn't have any main visual or title, just a background and button, but that can always be fixed. I liked the calming audio and the egg throwing/teleporting mechanic, it gives a lot of room to build off of. Also I thought the camera was positioned very well in order to capture the scenery.

The one thing I would say could improve is the control scheme. I got used to it by holding my hand at a weird angle, but it's a little unconventional for Q/D instead of A/D. I'm sure there's a particular reason for that, was just interesting to me. Anyway, great job!

What a fun little experience, I do agree with you that the art and the music is a BANGER. I am curious which programs you used for your art and music, because it looks like a nice variety, and it must have been a rush to get through it all in time. I liked the reveal of the even stronger enemy, and the "I will not give" trope as you kept regaining your health, that was fun. One thing I would say (because I'm an idiot) is that when the opening text began, I walked all the way to the right and crashed, because I didn't understand the chicken in front was the last boss, I has thought they were the narrator of the text.

Overall, great stuff!

Incredibly amazing, well polished game! Art is great, sound design is good, and upgrades and gameplay goes down as smooth as a morning omelette.

A serious sleeper hit in the jam. Well done!
