That's a good question. I was wondering the same thing myself. I think you should do what works or makes sense for you, since it's your game. After the jam is over, I don't think you'd be obligated to preserve the jam version as is unless you want to. I'd be interested to hear what other people have to say about it, though, because this is also my first jam.
