I have no idea where to start.... so I'll just list out my thoughts in a disorganized way.
- The premise is incredible. It's such a great vehicle to discuss ableism, transgender issues, queer issues, etc. In a world where everyone can duplicate themselves, to be an individual is a disability. That's a brilliant framework to discuss ableism, identity, codependency, etc., and it fucks hard.
- The presentation is borderline offensive. The UI dominates the screen and the text style is nearly painful to look at. The side sprite also doesn't have the best presentation. It looks like outline lines are overlapping his eyes for certain expressions. It's so overstimulating it almost makes me nauseous.
- The comedy is what I expect from an Unagi VN. Never change.
- The pronoun system is a necessary evil. I feel like there's a better way to introduce it in a less jarring way, but since this story seems to want to introduce pronoun/trans discussions, it's definitely necessary.
- It also adds another layer of lore/immersion. It makes perfect sense pronouns would be structured differently, so it's nice overall! I just think the presentation can use work.
- I'm not sure what to make of the romance storyline. I guess I'll have to see how it pans out.
- I see this going in an interesting direction where the LI's ying and yang and pseudo individuals, so that's relatable to the MC. I think that'd be a neat dynamic.
- I think the delineated narrator and MC internal dialogue with the fourth-wall break was an interesting choice. I'm not sure if I like it,though.
- I guess it's interesting since most people in the world would have two voices inside their head, right? But this is "two voices inside of one's head" from a different angle? I can't decide whether or not I like it.
Those are my thoughts. This VN gave me the best headache.
