Awesome game! I feel like this is the start of a great game. My feedback relates to the jam, but as a prototype I feel like y'all are onto something.

Jam feedback:

  • The voice acting was a fun surprise
  • I think you might speed the character up
  • MOOOARE astroids
  • If you made the character just the spaceship it would simplify the game a lot
  • I love the menu, the game being 2d but the menu giving you an off spectrum perspective of the world does a ton
  • The game was pretty easy to figure out how to play

Also I'm curious you created the destruction? Did you use RayFire?

Thank you for pleasant feedback!

We think, that the spaceman, who can switch ships and by himself is quite vulnerable, but has more long distance of catching the boxes, is a key to more deep gameplay. You may use only one ship, if you want, but there are places, where only the spaceman can climb through. Combining advantages of those vehicles may give more effective run.

Also there is another ship hided somewhere around...

We didn't use RayFire. Ships are just divided to pre-modeled submeshes with rigidbody on each of them. And liquid pieces just create smaller copies of them.

Oh gotcha I missed the parts where only the spaceman can traverse! Cool. Your game felt pretty deep for the jam. I loved the feel. Again seriously consider continuing to work on this game. I feel like theres an awesome space adventure game hiding in this game.

I recommend you check out RayFire, it'll do the pre-chunking of models for you. Its a bit hard to use and learn, but once you do it works well enough and has some good performance. It'll occasionally go on sale for around $100.
