You make an excellent point. It’s interesting you brought this up as I have discussed with some other TTRPG folks and was told how much as a veteran they can’t stand when basic information is written over and over again on both the webpages and the corebook.

But you are absolutely right. Not everyone is a vet and as the community grows you never know if your game is the first TTRPG a person is picking up. I will add the details to the webpage but also here in this comment.

Player Count: 3-6 with 1 DA (Director of Arcons aka GM)

Ages: 13+

Style of Play: One-shot, Mini Campaign, Full Campaign

Length: 2-4 hours (one-shot), 3-5 hours (session)

No solo at this time.

In other news as this version of Birthright is the Alpha the newest 2.0 Beta version will be out soon and I think you all will be very happy with the updates, changes and more details! Thank you for your support! <3

Thanks Anjali for the info. Really help me to categorise. Congrats on version 2.0, I will let you know if I get to this, but for now I’m just making collections to put games into boxes :)

You’re right. It is important to me as a newbie to have this basic information. Veterans can easily skip over it if they can’t stand it, there’s no damage done. If you exclude it for newbies, why would they bother reading further about the game, if they don’t know these basic facts? You’re shooting yourself in the foot.

It’s a big gap that I see in all the TTRPG game descriptions here. It makes it really hard for me to put things neatly in categories (GM? GM-less? Optimal number of players? Playtime? Solo?). That’s the first thing I want to know, before I read a single word of the game. I compare it to reading minimum requirements for a video game.
