BRAINLIGHTERS
[ + + + + - ] :: Enjoyment
All of my years of playing StarFox 64 paid off! I got to the brain first-try. I liked it! It was cute, fun, and simple. You did a great job designing the level. I especially loved that you included checkpoints. Even though I never used them, it was good to know that my progress was being saved.
I think I would give it 5 stars if it had another dimension of fun (like maybe a boss at the end), or if it had progressively interesting levels (perhaps with new abilities/challenges); but given the chosen scope, you did a great job!
All in all, a great experience.
[ + + + + - ] :: Creativity
Probably the most creativity I've seen yet! It felt genuinely out of left-field, and it was a captivating idea. I was on the fence about giving it 5 stars. I think there's more room for creativity here. Admittedly I can't give a clear example of how this might be improved. I think my issue is that I know this is a concept that I am going to forget. I always go back to Super Mario Bros as an example of 5-star creativity. A plumber eats mushrooms and fights turtles to save a princess. It leads you to wonder how all of those ideas came to be. It stands out from most, if not all other game ideas.
That said, yours was a very creative idea! Great job bringing it to life!
[ + + + - - ] :: Presentation
I would have given it 4 stars, but the opening scene was a bit clunky. That said, you did a great job of presenting the concept, and then initiating the player into the world that you built. If the opening experience were smoother, I'd give it 4 stars. The game was surprisingly intuitive, and I loved the lighting. A 5-star experience might have been one with screen-shakes, and more memorable visuals. I liked the theme music. Great job!

BrainLighters is a wonderfully creative exploration of a society of light-bulbs that bring inspiration to your brain. The objective and gameplay is surprisingly intuitive. A short, but enjoyable experience.
