Free-form movement for the ships made them way too OP, because of the main mechanic that you're going to be using to win the levels, which is either distracting the ship and shooting asteroids, or launching asteroids from different angles
Essentially 2 asteroids in a 180 angle needed to require the ship to travel lot of distance to reach each one, which only worked with this kind of movement, even though to me the other movement is a bit more intuitive to implement
