Fun maze game! I thought the choice of music was particularly fitting.

I think it's a little hard, though: even if I knew exactly where to go, it feels like I wouldn't be able to make it. A couple of things that I think could help fix that:

  • placing more water bottles
  • making the maze smaller
  • making the player go faster
  • and/or zooming the camera out a little so the player can see more

Any or all of these tweaks would help me finish the game, I think!

One bug I found: the timer counts down by 2 instead of 1, so the timer says you have twice the amount of time than you really have. Fixing this small thing might even fix the gameplay I mentioned above. But a single bug in a three hour game is really good!

Overall, nice work! I played it a couple times trying to find the exit. 🙂

Thank you for your great feedback.

Agree placing of water bottles could be improved, with most of the water bottles placed by gut feeling. I did not have the time to test all (I wasn't even sure if the maze could be completed).

I wanted the maze to be big, but it needed more variety of problems and changes of scenery to help navigation.

Agree player could move faster (and have animation).

Agree camera could pan out a bit more,  but did not want it to be too much unless I had some Fog of War effect, but that was probably too much hard work for Trijam game.

The bug is not a bug, and it was intentional. Originally it was counting down in a block of ten but did not feel right. Then had to count down by 1, but then it felt it was too rushed. The countdown was settled on going down by two was a quick fix. To be honest, I would like to replace it with a bar or some other visual display.

Working on one update for after the voting so should see some of these implemented, and I will post a screen shoot of the whole map.
