I really liked that it used the old Minecraft oof sound! I also really liked the atmosphere change when the player enters the deep waters.
There could have though been a bit more gameplay elements than just diving deeper.

I agree with you on that. I had more mechanics planned but sadly wasn't able to make it happen due to time.
