Let me just say, if your intention was to create a game that made you feel trapped in an abusive romantic relationship, A-GODDAMN-STAR!!!  Cuz man this game had bugs.  Bugs up the butt.

And yet... I just couldn't quit it.  Maybe it's the great visual assets you used.  Maybe it's the fact you made the main villain such a creep that needed teaching a lesson.  Maybe it's just that hitting things and bouncing off their heads was fun.  I persisted.

Now, the specifics!  Lemme see...

  • If I died I lost my double jump, and usually my trident too.  If I reloaded my save at the starting statue... same thing.  Meaning every time I wanted to fight Eros, it took 4-5 minutes to regrind all my powers.
  • Ares is fun to fight, but he can just be wailed on.  Aphrodite too, but you at least moves around a bit more.  Eros and the Nightmare were the best.  Even if the Nightmare could get you outside of the arena with their skulls.
  • Sometimes Aphrodite's raining lances spawn even after she's gone.
  • Eros can fire his lazer from a sport even after he's moved.
  • Sometimes I would land on a platform, and the enemy couldn't hit me, or I couldn't hit them, or both.  I think dashing fixed it?
  • The pit in the castle doesn't respawn you like the others.  Looks like you go off-map and the game kills you.  I suffered quite a few frustrating ends to that...
  • Speaking of which, the dash could recharge a bit faster, or at least have a tell for when it does.
  • As you're probably aware, the voice acting is good, but the levelling/balancing is bad.
  • Like I said, Eros comes across well as a scumbag, but maybe the VO was a bit too slow.  He really relished every syllable.  On one had it tested my patience.  On the other, I guess it did make me hate him more.
  • There's a golden platform on the Nightmare path that can only be accessed by bouncing off an enemies' head.  It doesn't do anything... why?
  • The save-point guy's dialogue scrawls too slow.

I have footage that I need to edit quite a bit  I'll let you know when I upload it.  May it bring you as much joy and pain as your game brought me!

Hahaha I loved reading your feedback. Thanks a lot for taking the time to write all these things. I absolutely agree with every single aspect that you have said. The game indeed has a lot of bugs. Sorry for the inconvenience :)

- The saving system works the best with downloaded version but yeah it does mess up from time to time. Once the Jam is ended (as we can't edit the submission at the moment) we will have that sorted out :)
- Lol Nightmare was a "nightmare" for us developers too. It just did random stuff (even though coding wise she has the least amount of programming)

- The bug with Aphrodite's lances is actually fixed at the moment, but again I'll have to wait till the jam is over.

- About not being able to hit. That's a bug we are aware and working on. Does it get fixed when you dash? Well I didn't know :D

- The pit in the castle is Vanvick's responsibility :D. Nah, just kidding. We'll get back to it.

- About dash recharging, well, we would add some indication about abilities but we simply didn't have time :(

- The voice over is amazing I agree. The people who did it are mega amazing. I'm positively shocked myself. Balancing-wise, thank you for bringing it. Hopefully we'll get to it :)

- Golden platform must be me not cleaning the tiles good enough^^. Thank you for pointing out. Apologies^^

Again, I appreciate the fact that you took all your time to point out all these things. It's like a list of bugs that we need to have to sort out. You are great. About your relationship with the game. It's a love story. Sometimes it's rough, sometimes it's tender :D

Thank you for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated! I guess my voicing of Eros did what was intended then! It was designed to make you absolutely loathe him. Our write and the whole team did a great job on this project with the time we had.  Onward and upward!
