Great Game! Congratz!

I got a few feedbacks for improvement, but overall it's a hit!

Movement: perfectly done, with high quality to the perspective! I just think the stage border was a little unclear on the first level and could mislead the player to avoid obstacles to wrong side when the almost full screen obstacles apear. Really good care for the movement progression, teaching the up and down move after perfecting the side movement first.

Shooting: It wasn't very clear the effect of the missile instead of the normal laser beam. I think there was a big rock that required a missile shot in the second stage, but I'm not sure if it was just a normal rock in my face because of the perspective. For the final boss I got a little tired of clicking fire. Maybe in the end you could turn on auto-fire, but I'm glad you used both keydown and keyup to shot, otherwise it would really be painful.

Text: It was a bit janky because of the constant changing size and characters. Maybe using a darker color but keeping the same size would fix this issue. It is quite distracting

Sound: Great sound! But made me question how GB like it was.

Overall a really fun game to play! You all did a great job!

Yeah on the first level it cannot be clear enough sometimes how much you can push to the left/right to dodge stuff, but that is why the player hitbox was made smaller (you can even go through the tiny gaps of the obstacles as well!)

Second, the big rocks die instantly with a missile but drop even smaller ones (plus pickups!). Missiles can be a bit tricky to use because of how slow they can be and the final boss was a bit too much  for sure jajaja. I remember testing it before putting the final version and being even HARDER, thing is we wanted to leave a decent challenge for people that reached the end ^^

Third, yeah depending on your screen/resolution it could even be harder or easier to see stuff. Some of the text specially was impossible to make readable because of how far it is from the player (like the ones used in the final boss to indicate the weak points, good thing I did a decent design with a damn big arrow).

And lastly, the soundtrack is incredibly GB! It even runs on real hardware, search on twitter if you can @DonutShoes (or in the jam page). He did the music and it's an incredible talented chiptuner.

Thank you a lot for taking the time to do such a well written and explained review of our project. Have a nice day <3

Here's a video of Level 1's music, written and recorded using LSDJ which is a music making platform that runs on Game Boy. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxmjocaMQR8/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Wow! Great guys! You really pushed the hardware to the limit LOL, because the sounds were awesome and much better than my old experiences with GB ;)
