"Not knowing what was happening" was too vague, and I apologize for that.
What my issues were:
I was having a hard time figuring out where my scarecrow was in space on the map.
Couldn't tell if my scythe was hitting the crops correctly.
It also took me a little bit to figure out that there were 3 harvests needed per wheat. So it seemed like something was wrong with what I was doing, but it was actually harvesting them one a time, which was not intuitive to how a scythe would work.

I did look at the How To screen. I had to do it after I jumped in and was very confused. I think it explained some components well, but again the 3x harvesting wheat was confusing. Also, the "you have one night" was a little confusing. I think the moon going across the sky indicated time in the level, but it was hard to tell how much time was left based on that.

I don't know the length of gameplay time because I backed out to the menu and it started me over (though I think that was something I did with the browser on accident) and then I had a work meeting I had to get to after I played for like 45 more seconds.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. The points you've mentioned make a lot of sense and will definitely help me get better at handling communication of gameplay elements to the player, namely time and hitboxes, as well being mindful of base UI considerations like the inclusion of a "BACK" button. Thanks again for playing!

Yeah, no problem. I know how valuable feedback can be.
Did you create the art, animation, and music for your game?

I did all the art, animation, and coding. The music I used was a royalty free song I found (that is the credit at the top right) and the sound effects were free sounds I found from various free sound effect sites.
