will there be a mac version?

(2 edits)

I don't own a Mac device to test with, however if you do own one and are willing to help me test it and make sure everything works smoothly, I can likely release a Mac version!

of course! if any issues show up i def can keep tabs and let you know.

I uploaded a Mac build, please give it a try and let me know how it goes. The game engine gave me this warning, but having never used a Mac, I'm not really sure what this means. I'm assuming it's the anti-malware built-in? If so, please let me know if it prompts you at all.

hmm i cant get it to load at all, so it loads the godot game engine logo, but nothing after that. When i first loaded the game i had the content warning come up, but when i clicked on the "i am 18+" i wouldnt continue forward, and i  haven't been abled to recreate it.

this is the errors i got when running through terminal if this helps

That was a very good idea to run it through terminal, it looks as if the game isn't registering any of the files. I don't know much about Mac but I'll try to get this working. I'm going to make another build that will force all of the assets to load. If this doesn't work, see if any antivirus may be interfering with it.

I'll send another reply after I upload the build, thank you for your patience!

Okay, I've released an updated Mac build. Please give this one a try and see if the results are any different. I did confirm that the files are in the build, so hopefully it works correctly this time.

weirdly enough same issue but wonder if thats cause im on the m1 chip mac laptop...though that shouldnt be an issue. ive even gone through the files to see if theres something i might need permissions to but i shouldn't..idk

It seems like it's just not loading any of the resources, even though they're included in the export and I confirmed that they are. Is there anything similar to Linux's Wine where you can run an exe on Mac and see if that works with the main build?

there was the original wine bottle opener program, i remember trying to use that a few years ago for something else, but they havent had a proper update in a years last i checked, but i can search around and find another solution and get back to you on it ;3

yea sadly i cant even use wine bottler to try this ~w~ wine's most recent version does not support mac silicone m1.  and other options are far more annoying to go through such as a VM, and really the best vm to use is parallels..and they are EXPENSIVE now lol.
