This was awesome! A great example of unexpected allies providing a way out of a challenging situation. I particularly like the fact that you managed to evoke the setting without it explicitly being a war story--I think this adds a lot of depth
Thank you! I always try to write things that fit in well with the game, and this prompt seemed like a good way to introduce that without writing Fight Scene #35 - maybe this is why your army is Change Daemons allied with High Elf Fleets, or maybe your Firefight team is a Fleet survey team.
