Well your example is quite extreme!

But in my case, it is really rare to draw exactly what I wanted. Especially when drawing characters.

A very recent example is the character I made for my recent game. It was supposed to be a charming female bartender. But as you can see in the final result I'll put at the end of this post, it turned out kinda childish, smug and hellish(?) character. Some people even asked if it was a boy or a girl! Which I find interesting, so I decided to keep it a mystery.

AND IT IS RED! The red color was not on purpose, I chose red as a placeholder color and got used to it!

So yeah, but it looks good in my opinion so I'll stick with it.

Here's the final character:

Were you inspired by death parade anime?

Maybe indirectly. It was not intentional to make something similar to Death Parade. You're not the first to ask that! So I guess it does remind people of it.

It reminds me not only death parade it also reminds me Nagisa from Assassination Classroom.

That's true. I hadn't realized that. Nagisa definitely wasn't an inspiration since I only watched 3 episodes of the anime. But they do look similar.

Definitely feel this, as someone who has a hard time drawing female characters… Sadly I don’t have any examples to post in the thread since I have a bad habit of simply throwing unfinished pieces in the trash if they’re not working out :/
