A fun game with some pretty good mechanics!
I still don't understand why I need a melee attack when I have a machine gun, but it doesn't really matter =)

We didn't understand either, so we made it so that a melee attack was always guaranteed to grant an ability when it hit. A good price to pay for the potential damage received.
