We didn't understand either, so we made it so that a melee attack was always guaranteed to grant an ability when it hit. A good price to pay for the potential damage received.

This is one the best of these jam, I really like the UI elements, nice gameplay mechanics, nice sounds and graphics, the only thing I didn't understand is why two medikits give level 0 and don't heal me anymore. Very good job

One of our existing mechanics is that if it is necessary to mutate one of the two selected objects, it can be demuted, i.e. lower your level. Not lower than 0, otherwise the jokes start there.
The fun part is that you can do negative damage to a weapon, it's rare but possible
I literally did it 3 times in a row it happened to me, I couldn't be more unlucky, ahahah
Congratulations on submitting! I think a really cool update would be if you had limited ammo so the player doesnt just spam shoot. The enemies could drop ammo pickups, I think it would add a lot of depth to the game. Overall great job!

In this build, we deliberately abandoned the bullet mechanic, as it would increase the difficulty in large battles. We have focused on the possibility of exterminating a large number of enemies in a short period of time; we will think about adding a tactical component further.
Previously, a colleague also suggested adding reloading; I think these two mechanics can be combined into a conditionally “Hard” mode.

More effects, like explosion of enemies, good pixel art. Clever idea. Better shoot system and maybe some reload time?

Was a little unclear about the mutations until I played it a couple times.
I liked the sounds, starting with the sound of pressing a button in the menu ) Music does not distract from the process. Cool pixelart )

loved the games design, and the sounds were good. i also liked the fact that you could see further with your mouse when shooting, looks very polished, but the mutation screen bugged outsometimes on the web build of the game, very good game!

Regarding the error - yes, we used an incorrect delay mechanism before shots in a shotgun, we realized this after publication. The error does not affect the gaming experience in any way, but the console can indeed be spammed. Just... Ignore it.
