I had difficulty understanding what was going on? Does the text above the enemies' heads give a hint as to what they will cast? And do I have to choose the right combination to counter it?

The approach is very interesting because you only have a limited amount.

If you guide the player a bit more, it could become a really cool game.

This was definitely a concern, we didn't figure out a tutorial in time. You've got it right though. The cloud bubble is an indicator of the enemy's move, and you build your own move to go against it. Trying to beat as many of the parts of their move as you can. 

I'm glad you think so too, I think doing the original idea justice with more options and a better tutorial could be pretty fun!
