It was tricky to get to grips with, and I was running in circles quite a few times. It was enjoyable but kinda frustrating too. I played for about an hour, but quit after dying to the little blue Boss in the far right room, since I couldn't be bothered collecting all the energy again, and had lost a lot of progress since my last save.
I didn't figure out an application for the bubble, and I don't think I found the special. I wasn't a fan of the way certain routes were blocked by multiple gates. I suppose I should have read the map more carefully and planned ahead, but it always made me feel like I'd wasted a key.
Really, I was surprised by how integral the Energy was to the game as a resource, and it got pretty mental by the time I was zipping around like a maniac. It was fun, since it made me feel strong in the game, but it was also a little unwieldy. Not necessarily a bad thing though.
I didn't clue in to the energy loss and respawning on death until the very end when I died against the Boss. It also took me a minute to realize his health was resetting. By the time I started taking a more cautious approach, I just got too bamboozles to bounce back.
