Hi there, I will post the list here so everybody can see it because this question pops up all the time:

Buccaneers of the Caribe = Pirates of the Caribbean 2003 vanilla game on Maelstrom engine (kinda broken, not recommended)

Caribe Stories = Caribbean Tales 2006 vanilla game on Maeltstrom engine (works great, much recommended because it has fixed all the stability issues of the original)

Caribe Stories Historical Immersion = Historically accurate mod for Caribbean Tales from 2006. Brings jungles to the game and also a lot of other historically accurate stuff

Lost Ships City = City of the Abandoned Ships 2009 vanilla game on Maelstrom engine (works great, much recommended because of fixed stability issues of the original)

GOF 1.2 = The biggest mod in the English community for COAS, includes new characters, ships and items

ERAS 2 = Based on GOF 1.2 and is a historical accurate adaptation of GOF 1.2 but much was implemented into it afterwards

GOF 2.0 = A not historical accurate version of GOF that was a bit stripped down compared to GOF 1.2 in terms of additions to the game

GOF 2.5 = An improved version of GOF 2.5 but most say that it brought more problems than it solved, so not as beloved my the community

New Horizons = most up-to-date game on Maelstrom, probably the richest overall mod/game from the list, includes the original POTC from 2003 and so much more, including new storylines, items, ships, characters and will soon feature the biggest map of all games since it's still actively developed. New storylines only available in the Russian community will also be implemented later this year

I hope this explains everything, I will edit the post of there is something unclear or you need further information.

Thank a lot!  Terrific job of all these MODs!!

Thank You!

Thanks a lot.
So Hew Horizons is worth to check and as I understood, it works with POTC, not AoP2.

Can you tell what'd have been done to install it?

Are there any screens of map to check how  many islands were added? I see there's England, France, Holland, Spain, Portugal and USA.

New Horizons is definitely worth checking out. It is based on POTC but it's just as standalone like the rest of the games (you need the Maelstrom engine but that's it). To install it you need to buy the Maelstrom engine and link the Maelstrom engine to the game. There is a great tutorial on Youtube on how to do it, just search for "Maelstrom Engine installation guide".

Quite a few islands have been added compared to the original POTC and the map is much larger but in terms of nations there are still the four standard ones + Pirates and Sweden (if you activate it in the settings). But only the four standard ones and Pirates have settlements.

Hope this info helps.

Is it the same Maelstrom Engline like here?

yeah, it's the same Maelstrom engine as the one you use for ERAS or all the other games. Just make sure to update your Maelstrom engine install to the latest version.

Thanks. I'll check.
I hope that I could play both, i.e. this doesn't make AoP2 unplayable.

So here's the latest update?

If I bought it once (when I wanted to install AoP2 GOF 2.0), shall I buy it once again?

yeah, thata's the latest update but you can just download it from here: https://chezjfrey.itch.io/gentlemen-of-fortune-maelstrom-engine

It will automatically download the latest version and as long as you are logged in you won't see the buy button but rather the download button on the top of the screen. There is no need to buy it again as all updates are included.

Thanks, it works although there's only a few character to choose. I chose Horatio and honestly I have no idea how to get to sail mode.
Is there any site which explains what's further?
Interface is totally different in compare to that I know from AoP2.

you have to click on the individual things like the ship or character picture to bring up more options. There are a ton of different things to choose from. What you did is basically clicking through the individual storylines there are (which are quite a few + individual prologues for some characters in freeplay). You can check out the wiki for quest walkthroughs and other stuff here: https://www.piratesahoy.net/wiki/new-horizons/

Thanks.
I'm looking at map. No Caracass, Maracaibo and others from Spanish Main?!
