I'm glad you liked it, even if you weren't its exact target audience.
I've found that Twine is a very convenient engine, with many ways to do the same thing. This makes it extraordinarily easy to get into, if you've got the ability to write a bit. Being a writer, I had that.
Its weakness is that while it's technically possible to make any game out of nothing but links (not even using any math), that makes for a rather bad game if there needs to be dynamic elements. I got my start in twine from hacking another game, so the first thing I learned was the math rather than the story elements.
If you like my style of humor but would rather not read as much, another game I've made, Yuri My Beloved, may be more your speed. It's a shame it was made in january, because while it took 2 weeks to this one's 5 days, I can confidently say it's ~100x better. A proper game rather than a text adventure.
