Things I liked about the game:
- Excellent Game Boy art style.
- The audio presentation is high quality.
- Not too many mechanics.
Things I didn't like:
- This game is unforgiving! Even on the easiest difficulty I died a LOT and could not finish, and I'm not a total platformer newbie.
- Some foreground/interactive elements are hard to tell apart from the background. I'd occasionally get hit by something I didn't realize was an enemy or miss a platform I thought was scenery.
- Not much of a difficulty curve. I was having to deal with multiple enemies and obstacles pretty early on in the game, and while there is a good rhythm of action/relaxation sections, it's really all or nothing.
I also have mixed feelings about the high quality audio with Game Boy visuals. It's a weird choice IMO, but may just be a me thing.
Overall, the game looks nice, it has some good things in there, it just needs to have the difficulty refined.
