Firstly, I’m not a font expert. My main problem with the font was mostly inconsistent spacing between letters, which made it look a bit messy and harder to read each word. I also think that the font has too much going on, as in it was visually overwhelming I guess. I don’t know what might be causing that but my assumption would be the resolution of the font. I understand you’re going for a pixel art style, and a smaller font works for things like name tags. But for areas with a lot of text, it can cause straining after a while. Oh, also the shadow behind the font might be a bit too much, a flatter look might be better, but you probably need to experiment on what works best. I would suggest you search for “pixel art visual novel fonts” or something similar and look at some example screenshots from other games to get a reference on how they handle their font.
